Visitor/Resident Map

I am an extremely motivated and organized student who is currently serving as a College Marketing Representative for Sony Music and a marketing intern for Pitt Student Affairs Marketing. Ever since I was a freshman in high school, I knew that I had a passion for music, and more specifically the music industry. Because of this, I have worked since then to position myself the best I can to pursue a career in the music industry after college. My freshman year at Pitt I became the Pittsburgh representative for Sony Music’s college rep program, SonyMusicU. The summer after my sophomore year I studied abroad in London and got the opportunity to intern at Blow Up Records, an independent record label. The next summer I interned at RCA Records in New York and solidified the idea that I definitely want to pursue a career at a record label.
At Pitt I worked hard to develop and strengthen my leadership skills by holding various leadership positions on campus. This included President of the Interfraternity Council, Student Government Board Member, Entertainment Director of Pitt Dance Marathon and VP of Finance for Omicron Delta Kappa Honors Society. I learned so much from these roles and hope to apply all of it throughout my career.
Social Media Audit
Social Media Audit: Justin Horowitz
LinkedIn: More passive on LinkedIn, does not have recent activity or many updates. However, LinkedIn has a significant amount of information.
Twitter: Personal Twitter, Public but appropriate. Not used very often.
Not hard to find partner on Twitter and LinkedIn from Google search. Facebook does not return results, one YouTube video from Homecoming comes up. Partner is more passive on social media. Content is more personal, retweets on Twitter, can tell he is in Greek Life. Not much activity on LinkedIn but can see previous jobs and it looks well organized for an employer.
My assumption would be that he has many friends, very social – a lot of quality interactions on Twitter. From LinkedIn I can tell he is very professional, but it could use more attention to detail and updates. Looks like it is used less.
I think his Twitter use is fine. However, he could like and begin to comment on posts on LinkedIn to increase his activity and show he is active on that social media.
My strategy is a bit different, as I used LinkedIn more and most of my accounts are private. I don’t think this will affect my strategy moving forward. However, I do think this shows the importance of updating activity on LinkedIn to show employers you are active.
